A Real Canadian Story!
Kate & David met in Montreal where she was attending university and he had recently immigrated as a millwright from Northern Ireland. They married and to be closer to family, relocated to a small farming community in Southwestern Ontario. They have two children and now are kept busy with their three grandchildren!
With Kate’s ‘artsy’ side & David’s shop abilities, local craft shows became a hobby. The HOBBY quickly became a small Canadian family business.
“We love the design work and hand crafting new pieces. Over the years, we’ve met great people- many we now call friends.”
Kate and David work with many different mediums – “IronWorks” metal hooks and signs, “StoneWorks” hand-poured and painted tiles, and “FrameWorks” engraved sayings and frames. Each piece is designed in the K.D. Rooster studio and handcrafted in their workshop. Their focus is quality craftsmanship with pieces celebrating Canadian wildlife, Celtic design and reflecting heartfelt expressions.
“We love our work and working with those we love.”
